AS TIME GOES BY/PICTURE IN A FRAME

With the fruit hanging on a string and the
coiled thing all bent around it
they turn it on and it fries it.
Best not be around.

Rambling across the land, don’t know
where I’m going
don’t really know where
I am.
I’m here. Right where I are. Like a star.
Could be
trillions of miles across a list of forever
and forever
and forever.

Black coffee, porridge and banana.
I’m walking.
Rolling my feet through a circular rhythm.
Worn down the heels of my sneakers,
half worn through. This time
next year. Where I’m going. From here
to where I am when I get there
all the years and years.
Always.
Don’t know
the path. The turns
and switchbacks,
the climbs and the cruising.
